I AM MEMPHIS Teams Up With Elite Retailer City Gear USA

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – July 17, 2012 – Eye Am, LLC and City Gear USA today announced the launch of the I Am Memphis, a t-shirt line designed to promote unity, progress and prosperity within the city of Memphis. Designed by Mychal Scott, I Am Memphis is the designer’s first apparel collection and features the signature I Am Memphis t-shirt and hoodies. The collection captures the deeply rooted history of Memphis by featuring an inaugural design that reflects the signs carried during 1968 sanitation workers strike. Scott describes the collection as, "A movement towards a different way of life in Memphis to restore pride in our city. People are begging for it.” The company was formed by a group of friends who all want to show three core values they feel Memphis represents – unity, progress and prosperity. I Am Memphis will donate a portion of the proceeds of each “I Am Memphis” t-shirt sold to positive events, programming and college scholarships for teens in the Memphis area.
